Three things to check

  • Measure both the width and depth of your workspace.
  • Check whether height figures include the desktop.
  • Compare the final configuration and delivery total.

Check three things before choosing a standing desk: available floor space, your working heights and the configuration you are paying for.

1. Width and depth

Measure the space and allow for movement, cables and nearby furniture. An 80 × 50 cm Desky Dual Mini option takes less room than a 120 × 60 cm 9AM Robin, but also leaves less depth for a monitor.

2. Your actual sitting height

Measure the desktop height you need while seated comfortably with your existing chair. The Dual Mini lists a 60–125 cm frame range excluding the desktop; Robin lists 72–116 cm. Add the desktop thickness where it is excluded. A low frame minimum alone is not an ergonomic assessment.

3. The exact configuration

Desktop size, finish, accessories and delivery can affect your final cost. Compare the chosen configuration rather than the starting price. Neither desk has been hands-on tested by ShopClever.
